I received numerous complaints from both the business community and residents alike about the number of recent power outages on Cat Island.
Those affected describe the power supply as ‘unreliable’ and ‘erratic’, causing much inconvenience and negatively impacting businesses – especially those that support the local tourism industry that is slowly recovering in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I call on the government to move with urgency in addressing this vexing issue.
