Glenys Hanna Martin is a 4-time member of parliament for Englerston having first won the seat in the 2002 General Elections.
A political trailblazer, Glenys Hanna Martin has served as Chair of the Bahamas Branch and immediate past Regional Representative of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Women’s Association.
In 2008, she was elected Chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party, becoming the first woman in The Bahamas to hold the Chairman post of any major political party.
She is now the longest serving female Parliamentarian in Bahamian history and as the nation’s first female Minister of Transport and Aviation, she spearheaded a transformational and modernization initiative of the aviation sector.
She is the proud mother of three and her interests include reading, walking, yoga and poetry.
