This past weekend on Saturday 6th February, the Progressive Liberal Party was pleased to be able to deliver 3,000 food packages in Grand Bahama.

The giveaway started in Eight Mile Rock at the Jones Town Community Park. The PLP Convoy then distributed packages at ‘The Home Away From Home’ senior home, ‘The Reybertha Old Age Home’ and ‘The Grand Bahama Children’s Home’.

The team also took time to visit with some of the people that could not come to collect packages in person.

The day rounded off with a giveaway at the PLP Headquarters, East Sunrise Highway.

Philip ‘Brave’ Davis, Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party said: “It was a wonderful day with the people of Grand Bahama. They’ve had the roughest of times and yet have not lost their strength or spirit. Our food drive was offered in the spirit of empathy and dignity, and the conversations we had throughout were a gift to us. Nothing feels better than coming together.”

Barbara Cartwright, Secretary-General of the Progressive Liberal Party said: “Our party has provided help with food since Hurricane Dorian. The scale of the operation to provide 3,000 food parcels in Grand Bahama required dozens of people volunteering their time and their effort. We are grateful to them all”.
